Email Template Design and Management

The Email Template Manager is the area of the Eloqua 10 application where you can create, modify and customise Email Templates for Eloqua users at your organisation.

It provides the ability to assign very granular settings to areas of your Emails, for example, you can specify which sections of your Email can or cannot be edited, the size of images, and more.  The link below provides instructions on how to use the Email Template Manager for this purpose.

Improved Editing and Previewing

The standard Email and Landing Page Source Editors in Eloqua 10 provide the ability for an Eloqua user to upload an HTML Email or Landing Page that was created outside of Eloqua.

Eloqua 10 users can now modify an Email that was originally created outside of Eloqua using either the native Eloqua Email or Landing Page ("Awesome") Editor, or via the source code is currently being conducted.

This feature allows an Eloqua user with or without HTML knowledge to modify the Email or Landing Page either method - the WYSIWYG (Live Preview) version or the HTML source.

Content and Campaigns

Campaign Approval Process
Eloqua 10 Campaigns provide the modern marketer with powerful tools to reach and nurture prospective and current customers.  Prior to the Winter '14 release, Campaign activation was possible by the owner (creator) of the Campaign or anyone with the corresponding access rights to
activate it.

However, often it is important to validate the content of the Emails, Landing Pages and other content that are included in a Campaign, therefore it is now possible to configure an approval process prior to being able to activate the Campaign.

Create a Simple Email Campaign
As a modern marketer, you may prefer to have a quick and simple way to send an Email using the power of Eloqua but without having to create a Campaign through the Campaign Canvas.

Using a wizard-style process called a Simple Email Campaign in Eloqua 10, you can quickly and easily create a Campaign, select a Segment, and Email and specify when the Campaign should be activated within a few simple steps.

> Storing Contacts with No Email Address
This configuration guide will walk you through how to use your Eloqua instance to create and update Contacts with no Email address by using a unique match identifier other than Email Address.

It covers the common ways that you are able to update contact records: directly through the UI, Contact List uploads, Data Imports, Form Submits, CRM synchs and using the API.  It is important to note that while you can have contacts with no Email address, if one does exist, it must be unique.
